SRINAGAR, Dec 25: The residents of Eidgah Assembly constituency and other areas from Srinagar led by Senior National Conference leader Mubarak Gul took out a protest march, which ended at Press Enclave, here.
The participants were raising the slogans against the mass killings and other unaddressed issues.
While speaking, Mubarak Gul strongly demanded the stopping of mass killings. In addition to this Gul asked the Governor to review the allotment of colleges in Srinagar as one demanded since long at Saidapora on already identified land measuring 67 kanals has not been sanctioned. He added that the college at such location would benefit a huge area of Eidgah and Buchpora at one end and Batamaloo at the other.
He also demanded waive off artisans loan granted to the traders and artisans as such skilled workers have suffered huge loss during the floods and are not adequately compensated.
Gul also expressed concern about the dumping of the waste materials and dirt from all over the city by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation at Achen Saidpora. The question was also raised in JK Assembly and dropped on the promise of the authorities about its treatment and division of dumping site in four different places instead of one, he added.
He also opposed the intended trifurcation of State and appealed to the Government of India and Pakistan for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
