JAMMU, Dec 27: Apart from performing their professional duties, the police personnel exhibited their talent in different sports disciplines on the day-2 of the Inter Battalion Sports Meet, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police at different venues.
In Hockey (Men) at KK Hakku Stadium, IRP-20th Battalion defeated JKAP-8th Battalion by solitary goal in the first match, whereas in the second match, IRP-12th Battalion outplayed IRP-18th Battalion by 1-0 goal.
In Football (Men) at University of Jammu, JKAP-13th Battalion, JKAP-8th Battalion, JKAP-13th Battalion, IRP-3rd Battalion, JKAP-12th Battalion and IRP-13th Battalion emerged as winners.
In Kabaddi (Men) at DPL Ground Jammu, IRP-15th Battalion, IRP-5th Battalion, IRP-14th Battalion, JKAP-9th Battalion, IRP-10th Battalion, JKAP-13th Battalion and IRP-19th Battalion emerged as winners.
In Handball (Men) at DPL Ground Jammu, JKAP-12th Battalion, IRP-12th Battalion and IRP-18th Battalion registered wins, whereas in Volleyball (Men), JKAP-8th Battalion, IRP-10th Battalion and JKAP-6th Battalion emerged winners.
In Wrestling Women, Suprita Bandral and Nirmal Devi secured Gold and Silver medals respectively in 53 kgs category, whereas in 62 kgs, Sushma Devi and Kanta Devi bagged Gold and Silver medals respectively, in 65 kgs, Komal Koul and Darshana Devi bagged Gold and Silver medals respectively, in 68 kgs, Nisha Rani and Bindu Devi bagged Gold and Silver medals respectively, in 72 kgs, Saroj Bala and Rajni Devi bagged Gold and Silver medals respectively and in 76 kgs, Seema Devi and Surishta Devi clinched Gold and Silver medals respectively.

In Women Archery, Sunita Verma of IRP-15th Battalion, Madhu Rani and IR-15th Battalion and Urmila Devi of IR-15th Battalion bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively, whereas in 50 meters, Manoharma Devi of IRP-15th Battalion, Surishta Devi of IR-15th Battalion and Nirmala Devi of IR-15th Battalion clinched Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively, in overall, Sunita Verma, Manoharma Devi and Nirmala Devi bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively and in Women Individual Elimination Round, Nirmala Devi, Sunita Verma and Urmila Devi bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Basketball (Men) at Gulshan Ground Jammu, IRP-4th Battalion, IRP-12th Battalion and JKAP-9th Battalion emerged as winners.
In Table Tennis, SSP Shivdeep Singh outplayed DySP Farooq Khan by 2-1 sets in the first match, whereas DySP Paramveer Singh defeated SP Rakesh Kumar by straight 2-0 sets in the second match. In the third match, SP Samir Kotwal emerged winner by trouncing SSP Shivdeep Singh by straight 2-0 sets.
