JAMMU, Jan 1: Continuing with the momentum of the development of Gandhi Nagar Constituency, former Deputy Chief Minister & senior leader BJP, Kavinder Gupta along with Vikram Randhawa, MLC today started work of deep drain at Trikuta Nagar and Friends Colony which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore by UEED.
Baldev Billowria, Neeraj Puri corporators, Ankush Gupta, Bharat Sharma among other BJP & BJYM workers were present on the occasion.
In his address Kavinder Gupta said that momentum of the developmental works which have been approved earlier will continue. He said the deep drains in other areas are also under construction and hopefully this rainy season the people will be relieved of the water logging problems. There will be no compromise with quality of work and special care will be taken in the execution of different works so that the quality can be maintained and people don’t have to suffer in the future. The life of the works under taken is also going to increase and it is not going to break down easily, he added.
Gupta said I have promised to make this Constituency a model one and providing basic amenities to the public is the step towards the achievement of the Model Constituency.
Neeraj Puri along with other residents of the area complimented Gupta for fulfilling the promise and also apprised him about some other problems to which Gupta assured that all the genuine demands will be met very soon. He further said that the open gyms shall be installed in the remaining parks where they have not yet been started.
Later he dedicated the bore well constructed by PHE Mechanical Department, South at the cost of Rs 8.5 Lac in Guru Ravi Dass Mohalla. This was long pending demand of the residents of the area and the water from the bore well will be supplied to Ravi Dass Mohalla and its adjoining areas.
On the occasion, Gupta said that for the equitable development of the Constituency, he has taken various steps related to the upgradatuion of power supply, un-interrupted power supply, up-gradation of roads, upgdaration of lanes & drains, besides other developmental works.
