JAMMU, Jan 3: Eight students of Shito Ryu Karate School of Jammu and Kashmir won medals in the recently concluded 9th International Karate Championship at Lucknow.
In this championship, players from seven countries including Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Uzbekistan and Sweden took part. The championship was conducted under the supervision of Shihan Minoru Kanazawa from Japan, Kee Kanazawa from Japan, Asian Referee Hreeday Bhatt, Asian Referee Sessei Ashok Darda and Asian Referee Devil Bhatt.
J&K team was accompanied by Vikas Dhar, National Coach KAI under the supervision of Sensei Amit Singh, Black Belt 4th Dan World Karate Federation.
In the championship, J&K players Mohit Singh won gold medal in Kumite, Ayush Bakshi won Gold medal in Kumite and Bronze medal in Kata, Dishant Dogra won Gold medal in Kumite, Shivaag Hangloo won Silver medal in Kata and Bronze medal in Kumite, Unique Khangwal won Silver medal in Kata and Bronze medal in Kumite, Shivansh Arora won Bronze medal in Kata and Bronze medal in Kumite, Aryan Choudhary won Bronze medal in Kumite and Sujay Vijay Bhaskar won Bronze medal in Kumite.
