JAMMU, Jan 12: Trouncing their respective rivals convincingly, Samar Cricket Club and Laxmi Cricket Club sealed berths in the quarterfinals of the ongoing KC Sports Club Cup 2018-19, being played at KC School ground, here.
In the first match, Samar CC defeated Secretariat Cricket Club by 35 runs.
After winning the toss Samar CC decided to bat first and put a target of 137 runs for the rivals. Samar top scored with 47 runs, while Jiyaad Magray contributed 29 runs to the total. From Secretariat CC, Yaqoob took 3 wickets, while Kapil Deol bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Secretariat CC bundled out for 101 runs to lose the match by 35 runs. Amir and Adil contributed 30 and 14 runs resepctively. From Samar Club, Deepak Dogra and Tayab Farooq took 2 and 3 wickets respectively. Samar Singh was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, Laxmi Cricket Club defeated Vishal Club in an easy contest by 4 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 117 runs in the stipulated overs. Rajesh Gill top scored with 38 runs, while Lakhan contributed 20 runs to the total. From Laxmi Club, Sahil Lotra took 3 wickets while Pradeep Bali claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Laxmi CC Chased the target easily in 17.5 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Pradeep Bali and Sahil Lotra contributed 38 and 28 runs respectively. From Vishal Club, Rahil took 3 wickets, while Rakesh Koul claimed 2 wickets. Sahil Lotra was declared as man of the match for his all- round performance.
