Two held with intoxicant capsules, ganja

JAMMU, Jan 18: Gandhi Nagar police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons and recovered intoxicant capsules and ganja from their possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling near Valmiki Chowk, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by HC Mohammad Farooq intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 540 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Amit Gill alias Mita, son of Surinder Pal of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar.
Meanwhile, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh arrested a drug peddler along with 5 kilograms of ganja from Marathi Mohallah.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
