JAMMU, Jan 19: The officers of Information Department have appealed the Governor, Advisors and Chief Secretary to restore promotion quota slots by inducting eligible officers into KAS services.
“It has been observed from the last few years that the slots of one service have been diverted to another service. The Government should strictly implement its t Order No 107, issued by General Administrative Department (GAD) on January 16, 2002 in pursuant to court directions to ensure that the rights of the officers (promotees) eligible for induction into KAS are protected,” they said in a joint statement, issued here today.
The offices have informed that there are eighteen services strength like Secretariat, Information, Revenue, Industries, Rural Development, Food Supplies, Cooperatives, Tourism, Social Welfare, Handloom etc where from eligible officer, as per their strength and slots are inducted into KAS.
The officers appealed the Governor’s administration that induction process should be made transparent and as per seniority and open so that the officers of all the services know the exact number of slots available in each service besides the criteria being adopted for calculating number of slots for induction.
