Jammu, Jan 19: Trouncing their respective rivals convincingly in the quarterfinal contests, Simula Cricket Club and KC Sports Club sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing KC Sports Club Cup 2018-19 at KC School ground, here.
In the first match played today, Simula Cricket Club defeated Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy by 4 wickets to enter the semifinals.
After winning the toss and batting first, MGCA bundled out for 83 runs. Surya and Ajay contributed 32 and 30 runs respectively. From Simula, Ritik took 2 wickets, while Kuldeep, Akash and Raman shared one wicket each.
In reply, Simula CC chased the target in 17.4 overs. Mohit Puri and Puneet Kumar made 34 and 32 runs respectively. From MGCA, Sampark and Ankush took 2 wickets each.
Ritik of Simula CC was declared as the man of the match. Simula CC won the match by 4 wickets.
In another quarterfinal match played today, after winning the toss KCSC Seniors decided to bat first. Batting first, KCSC scored 146 runs. Vijay Dogra, Abhishant Bakshi and Vicky Raina contributed 37, 36 and 23 runs respectively. Vishal took 3 wickets, while Nikhil and Anil shared 2 wickets each.
While chasing the target Muthi CC bundled out for 132 runs. Vishal Sharma, Vishal Khajuria and Robin Singh made 37, 22 and 20 runs respectively. From bowling side, Vivek Sharma (Bablu) took 3 important wickets whereas Vijay Dogra and Tahir Bhat claimed 2 wickets each. Vijay Dogra was declared as the man of the match for his all round performance.
KCSC Seniors won the match by 14 runs.
Both the matches were officiated by Vijay Raina, Ashok Singh and Shiv Kumar.
