JKSPDC wins National Football Tournament

JAMMU, Feb 4: Defeating Sahara India Lucknow by two goals to nil (2-0)  in the final, the Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation has won the “All India Invitation Malwa Football Tournament 2013” at Sironj, Badesha in Madya Pradesh, today.
The winners bagged a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, while Rs 11000 each for man of the match and the man of the tournament was claimed by Gulzar and Damny respectively.
The team has clinched this prestigious tournament for the second time in a short span of 2 years since its inception.
The corporation has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is the Chairman of the Corporation and its Managing Director, Basharat Ahmad Dhar for taking keen interest in development of the team. Besides, contribution of manager, Iftikhar Kakroo, coach, Abdul Majeed and assistant coach, Rajinder Choudhary was also recognized.
The team is now leaving for Nagpur to participate in another National level tournament to be held from February 7, 2013 to February 17, 2013.
