JAMMU, Jan 23: For his excellence in the field of Athletics as coach and trainer, ace coach Nirmal Singh, who works as Lecturer of Physical Education in the Department of Youth Services and Sports, has been selected for the conferment of prestigious Parshuram Award.
Nrmal is among top six coaches of the State in various sports disciplines, who have been nominated for this award. The other five being Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Inderpal Singh, Manisha Gupta, Dalbir Kumar and Anil Sharma.
The selected awardees will be honoured by a medal, a citation, a cash prize of Rs 51, 000 and a scroll of honour besides a ceremonial dress.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nirmal has been instrumental in shaping the careers of good number of students in sports field.
