JAMMU, Jan 24: Former minister and president, District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP Government has failed to address the issues of unemployed youth and working class in the country.
Talking to media-persons here today, Sharma targeted BJP Government at the Centre for ignoring the educated youth of the country and alleged that Modi Government failed to fulfill its promise of providing 2 crore jobs to the youth every year in the country. He said instead of increasing jobs, the BJP Govt curtailed the job opportunities for the youth.
He alleged that in the J&K State also, BJP-PDP combined neglected the educated youth and even the workers have been left to suffer. Their issues were not addressed at all. Sharma said anti-youth, anti-employment policies of the Modi Government are the root cause for all time high unemployment in the country. He said India has 65% of youth population but 30 % of them are unemployed.
DCC chief further said that Kathua district was most neglected by the previous BJP-PDP Government in the state. He pointed out that more than 2000 posts in various departments have been lying vacant in Kathua district where as 10,000 posts have been freezed by Central Government in Railways for reason known best to them.
He pointed out that no posts of teachers were advertised in Kathua district during last 4 years whereas, on the contrary in other 21 districts, selection list was published 6 months back. He said closure of RET scheme has further added to the woes of educated youth. Over 62000 daily rated workers are awaiting regularization in various departments.
Manohar Lal further asserted that issuance of SRO 202 and SRO 520 of the State Government, is just mockery and betrayal with the youth of the state as both are against the Labour laws and requested to quash the same.
