SRINAGAR: Opposing any move to hand over the rattle power project to NHPC, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the National Conference (NC) was committed to fight against all machinations, aimed at fiddling with the State’s special status and unique political identity.
The NC vice president opposed the proposal, saying that the sell-out of a viable power project, will have long-term negative implications on economic growth of the State.
Addressing the workers and party functionaries at the one-day Block Convention in Khanyar, here, Mr Abdullah said, ”The proposed move of the Governor administration to hand over rattle power project to NHPC will undermine the economic interests of the state. The project can exclusively be run by the State effectively”. (AGENCIES)
