JAMMU, Feb 3: BJP MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma today visited the site of protest of NHM, RNTCP and NACO employees and assured them to take up their issues with Governor Satya Pal Malik for early redressal.
Today was the 21st day of the strike of the NHM employees. More than 4000 employees belonging to NHM, RNTCP, NACO and other central schemes as usual gathered at Press Club Jammu and raised the slogans in support of their long pending demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Seth, president, All J&K NHM Employees’ Association, Jammu province, said, “The employees has decided to go for a hunger strike till their demands are fulfilled for which Government had given a written assurance last year after 34-day-long strike. He said those commitments and orders remained in papers and nothing was done on ground”.
He exhorted Governor Satya Pal Malik to full fill their demands as promised on January 16 in a meeting with a high level committee of NHM employees. He said, “We have given 12 years of our precious time to serve the people at door step and the result of which have been witnessed that our State is being awarded as best performer in primary health care among all the States of India”.
The protest at Jammu was also joined by NHM, RNTCP, NACO and JKSACS employees from Kashmir and Ladakh while as similar protests were also held at all District headquarters and Block head quarters.
