JAMMU, Feb 7: K.B. Kachru who has recently been nominated as Member of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Governor discussed about the areas where interventions are required to deal with the increasing footfall and making pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine more comfortable.
Kachru is the Chairman and Principal Advisor, Radisson Hotel Group- South Asia; Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for Nine Northern States of India (Tourism), and also serves on National Committee and Board of Skill India.
Sonam Wangchuk, an engineer, innovator, and education reformist also met Governor and informed him about the outcome of his continuing endeavors to reform the education system and bring it in sync with ground realities by pursuing locally relevant knowledge, values and skills and about the to date status of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, a skill-based University, which will encourage experiential learning via practical application of knowledge.
Appreciating the innovative approach of Wangchuk towards education, Governor stressed the need for making education system relevant for providing solutions to the local problems and encouraging youth towards knowledge based constructive contribution to the Society.
