KARGIL, Feb 14: Protests against SRO 110 are escalating in frontier district of Kargil where hundreds of people participated in human chain protest today.
People in several areas including Sankoo Sub Division Headquarter, Tai Suru Block, Barsoo, TSG Block, Minjee, Drass Sub Division, Batalik, Shakar Chiktan, Wakha, Shargole etc, protested and raised their voice for equal representation and share in Ladakh division.
A human chain of one kilometer was formed from Kabadi Nallah to Imam Khomeni Chowk in which more than 2000 people participated even as there was a complete bandh and Chaka Jaam with no transport movement. Click here to watch video
Though there was no call by Joint Resistance Committee (JRC), people were in rage and they forcefully took out a protest march.
The JRC has called a mass protest tomorrow after the Friday prayers. Protest will start from Hozia Ilmia Isna Ashirya Kargil, Jamia Masjid Hanfiya and Sofia and will march towards Baroo and likewise a protest from Muslah-e-Imam Khomeni Minjee will march towards Baroo and meet with the other protest after Friday prayers.
Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Committee against SRO 110 Kargil Ladakh, called a press conference at Ismalia School Chowk and briefed the media about the future course of action.
The representatives, in a single voice said that the people were getting out of control and the Government was responsible for any consequences.
Acting CEC LAHDC Kargil Nasir Munshi asked district officers to abstain from duty and support the cause else they would have to face stern action and if anything advert goes against them, the committee will not be responsible.
He informed that the LAHDC Kargil has passed a resolution for Mass Civil Disobedience Movement against SRO 110 and there would not be any communication in the name of Ladakh Division till the SRO was amended.
