Driver held with Rs 2 lakh cash

JAMMU, Feb 8: Police today arrested a driver, who decamped with around Rs 2 lakh of his employer in Sarwal area of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, Sanjay Gupta, owner of a stationery shop lodged a complaint with police post Sarwal, that his driver identified as Lucky Guler, son of Pardeep Guler of Changia, Arnia, at present Talab Tillo, decamped with the Rs 1.84 lakh, which he had kept in his car.
The complainant said that he was going to deposit the amount in the bank, when his driver on getting opportunity, decamped with the cash, he added.
Police registered a case at Sarwal police post and started investigations.
“Police conducted raids at various places and apprehended the accused driver”, spokesman said, adding that the said amount was also recovered from his possession.
Further investigations were going on in the case, he added.
Police party led by SI Neelam Saini made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Manik Raj and SP North JS Johar.
