JAMMU, Feb 25: MLC Ramesh Arora today visited emergency unit of Government Medical College Jammu and contributed Rs 20 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for purchasing portable ventilators.
On his visit to GMC, the MLC observed deficiency of ventilators in emergency unit after which he met with Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina and handed over a letter for purchase of portable ventilators. He contributed Rs 20 lakh out of his CDF and assured for more contribution. At the same time he appealed the other Legislatures to visit Hospital and contribute more.
Dr Sunanda Raina said that Ramesh Arora is the first MLC who has contributed out of his CDF. She said if other persons also follow him it will be helpful in providing better medical facilities to the public because there is always shortage of funds. “I have already put a proposal about requirement of the ventilators before the State Government and I am hopeful of getting the amount released as early as possible,”she added.
Arora said that it is our moral duty and responsibility to provide better services, better facilities to the public “I visited GMC a number of times and realized there is huge demand and requirement of equipments, infrastructure, medicines and other facilities in GMC and other subordinate hospitals,” he said and assured that he will try his level best to contribute from his side timely and accordingly.
