JAMMU, Feb 26: All-rounder Abid Mushtaq and skipper Sahil Lotra slammed magnificent half-centuries as Jammu and Kashmir defeated Tamil Nadu by 5 wickets via VJD Method in a rain-hit match of the ongoing Men’s Cricket Under-23 Boys One Day Tournament at KL Saini Stadium, Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Tamil Nadu scored a modest total of 192 runs in 48.2 overs. Nidhish Rajagopal top scored with 55 runs, while S Lokeshwar and K Mukunth contributed 42 and 40 runs to the total respectively.From Jmamu and Kashmir, Abid Mushtaq, Sahil Lotra and Irfan Haq took 2 wickets each, while Auqib Nabi and Abhishant Bakshi claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K managed to score 181/5 in 37.2 overs in a rain-hit match and the match was decided by VJD Method, wherein J&K won by 5 wickets. Abid Mushtaq scored splendid unbeaten 59 runs off 53 balls, studded with 7 fours, while Sahil Lotra scored magnificent 51 runs off 41 balls, with the help of 4 fours and one six. Nipun Verma and Paras Sahrma contributed 28 and 25 runs to the total respectively.
From Tamil Nadu, Mohanprasanth took 2 wickets, while Ashwath, Ajith Kumar and M Sidharth shared one wicket each.
With this win J&K earned 4 points, while Tamil Nadu failed to secure any point.
