JAMMU, Feb 27: Special athletes of Special Olympics Bharat J&K brought laurels to the state by clinching gold and silver medals in the Snow Shoeing Race category in Winter Games held at Narkanda , Himachal Pradesh.
Special athlete Paramjeet got gold in 25 mtrs snow shoeing race and Rakesh Kumar got silver medal in 50 mtrs snow shoeing race.
Special athletes from different states of India participated in this national event. The sole motive of this sports event was to involve Special athletes and empower their self confidence and sportsmanship as well as their hidden talent through the medium of sports.
A team of 6 male athletes namely Jasdeep Singh , Rakesh Kumar , Ravinder Kumar, Paramjeet , Rahul and Manpreet accompanied by head Coaches Sahil Badyal and Vikram Pratap attended this camp.
National Director Winter Sports SOB Harpreet Singh, Area Director HP Mr Prikshit , Chairperson SOB Himachal Pradesh Mallika Nadda lauded the efforts of the athletes for good show.
All Special athletes of Special Olympic Bharat SOB Jammu & Kashmir participated under skilled guidance of State President SOB J&K, Ashwani Jojra , Raj Kumar Sharma ,Area Director SOB J&K and Community Family President, Pooja Malhotra.
