Srinagar, Mar 5: High Court today sought seniority list of Headmasters in the Education Department as some of them have been placed on in-charge arrangement as Zonal Education Officers by the Government in various zones.
A number of candidates have approached the court seeking the Government order passed on February 26 be declared as null and void wherein various Headmasters have been placed as In-charge ZEOs pending clearance of the DPC in violation of the rules and ignoring the seniority position.
The candidates who are working as Headmasters in various places submitted that despite they being much more senior to those who have been placed as in-charge ZEOs have not been shown in the order of interim arrangements.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey in the first instance sought the records pertaining to the petitioner-candidates and respondent-candidates from the authorities within one week’s time and directed the matter be listed again on March 11.
Court has also made it clear that in the event the petitioners are found to be senior from the respondents then appropriate orders shall follow as the authorities have to go by the seniority.
