KHOUR, Mar 10: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand today asked the party workers and other functionaries of Chhamb constituency, to gear up their activities in view of coming elections.
Addressing party workers’ meeting at Chak Malal in Khour sub division today, Tara Chand told all the party functionaries at block, ward and booth level, to gear up their activities. He said the Lok Sabha elections have been announced and the party functionaries must extend their activities.
The former DyCM further asked the party cadre to fully highlight the achievements of UPA-I and UPA-II before the people. He said that many development works launched during the tenure of Cong regime in the State, were stalled by the BJP led Govt and the public must be educated about these aspects.
He lambasted BJP for ignoring youth, workers / employees and poor sections of the society. He said workers remained on the streets to protest for their rights and demands and unemployed youth totally neglected during BJP’s tenure here. There is strong resentment among the people against BJP specially in Jammu region. The aspirations of the people of Jammu remained totally neglected. The employment opportunities were provided only in Kashmir.
Tara Chand further cautioned the BJP not to divide people on communal lines. He alleged that BJP was playing dangerous game in the sensitive Jammu and Kashmir State and was trying to play communal card for the political mileage. He said the BJP remained worst failure in the State and now this party was trying to divert the attention of the people from basic issues by dragging them towards non-issues.
