JAMMU, Mar 13: Nav Yug Higher Secondary School held Annual Sports Day -2019 in its school premises, here today.
The aim behind holding the event was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and spirit for sports in children.
Around 250 students from class 2nd to class 7th participated in various activities in presence of their parents.
MD of the school, HS Jamwal presided over the event as the chief guest, while the chairperson of the school Chanderkanta Jamwal and Principal Preetika Jamwal also graced the occasion with their presence.
Principal of the school started the competition with an encouraging speech to boost the confidence of the participants.
The students gave a tough competition to their competitors in tug of war, lemon spoon race, pick and run race, needle thread race and banana race.
In Lemon and Spoon race, the 1st prize was shared by Ridhima and Dhruv Sharma, while the 2nd prize went to Aryan Shivare and Naman Bral and the 3rd prize went to Diven.
In Banana race, 1st prize was won by Ananya, 2nd prize went to Yadhavi and 3rd prize was bagged by Tanish.
In Pick and Run race, 1st prize was shared by Shivansh and Vansh, the 2nd prize was won by Avish and Ayushman and the 3rd prize went to Eklavya and Suryansh.
In Needle Thread race, 1st prize was won by Abhey, 2nd prize went to Rakesh and the 3rd prize was won by Kashvi.
In the tug of war competition, the winners from Junior Wing included Diven Jamwal, Veer Partap, Vansh Baloria, Sugandhi, Ridhima Sharma, Supriya Tickoo, while from Primary Wing, the winners included Piyush, Aditya, Krishna, Jasmine Puri and Pihu Jamwal and the winners from Middle Wing were Saksham, Rakesh, Anshul, Rudraksh, Shivangi and Priya.
The runners-up from Junior Wing were Dakshesh Koul, Aryan Shivare, Preetika, Hareet kour, Raghav and Suhani, while from Primary Wing, the runners-up were Tanshu, Naman, Preesha, Preeti and Adhyan and from Middle Wing, the runners-up included Vansh, Ritesh, Dhruv, Vasundhara, Gayatri.
In the concluding function, Managing Director of the institute , Mr. Jamwal and Principal Mrs Jamwal lauded the efforts of the students for their good show.
