Panchayat Kootah creates history, sanctions Rs 1.60 cr for development

KATHUA, Mar 16: This is the first time in the history of J&K when a Panchayat sanctioned huge sum of money i.e one crore and sixty lakh rupees for various development projects of Panchayat.
The Panchayat has set an example for rest Panchayats of the State to follow as it sanctioned the amount which was the income of the Panchayat and sanctioned the same for the development in an open darbar today.
This happened with dedication of visionary Panchayat members in Gram Sabha arranged at Panchayat Kootah in Hiraganar tehsil of Kathua district.
The Modern Panchayat Kootah has generated Rs one crore seventy one lakh of income from various resources. A Gram Sabha of villagers was called at Kootah under the presidentship of women Sarpanch, Ranjana Devi under the supervision of Rural Development Department to finalize the resolution to sanction modern development works. The Panches Tripta Devi, Anita Sharma, Suresh Sagotra, Kapil Mansotra, Sham Lal , Sonu and Ex Sarpanch Kant Kumar were also present and huge number of villagers witnessed the Gram Sabha .
On the occasion three resolutions were raised to develop huge building infrastructure and Panchayat property which includes the construction of marriage palace with estimated cost of Rs one crore , construction of community hall with cost of Rs 40 lakh and development of sports stadium for youth with cost of Rs 20 lakhs . All the resolutions were passed unanimously by numbers of villagers who were present on the occasion.
The Sarpanch Ranjana Devi said that it is the matter of pleasure and unity of village that three resolution were raised and passed unanimously. She said it’s a record in the history of the State that Kootah Panchayat generated funds of Rs one crore seventy lakh and it is going to spend on development of Panchayat to raise huge asset of Panchayat . She said most of time Panchayats cry for funds and approach to Minister and Government authorities for sanction of funds. But our visionary Panchayat decided to raise history without any support from any Government organization.
Now the assets going to be raised will also generate income near in future should help us to generate more income in this context. She said the income as well as development of Panchayat is our priority and we want to create history with exemplary job.
