Girl suffers severe burn injuries in LPG cylinder blast

JAMMU, Mar 20: A 17-year-old girl today received serious burn injuries in LPG cylinder blast at her maternal grandmother’s residence in Udeywala area of city outskirts.
According to an official of police post Pounichak, the incident occurred this afternoon at a house in Udeywala area in which a 17-year-old girl namely Tania daughter of Gopal Dass (who had come to the house of her maternal grandmother’s residence) suffered about 100 % burn injuries.
He said the girl had come to the house of her maternal grandmother’s residence and the LPG Cylinder exploded there when to make the tea she lit a matchstick. The official said in the initial investigation it has come to fore that the cylinder exploded to leakage of gas from it.
“With severe injuries, the girl is battling for the life at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu,” the official said, adding further investigation into the case is underway.
