KISHTWAR, Mar 22: Former Minister and chief of Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan, Choudhary Lal Singh said that his party believes in uniting all the religions of Jammu province under the banner of Dogra identity.
“The only way to maintain our age old heritage and to preserve our unity in diversity is by identifying our self with our larger identity of Dogras. When we are Dogras, it brings all faith and religions including Hindu, Muslims, Sikhs, Bodh, Jains all together and make our province more stronger. Our unity is the befitting reply to the political parties inimical to our brotherhood, ” he said while addressing a series of public meeting at Kishtawar, Bhadrwah, Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Ramsoo and Batote.
During the tour, Ch Lal Singh also constituted the different elections campaign units at district and block levels. Many Panchas and Sarpanchas joined Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan and pledged their full support to its candidate. District presidents of Panther party, PDP and Congress also joined the DSS and extended their full support to the Jammu based party.
Lambasting at NC and Congress, Ch Lal Singh said that on one side they are contesting against each other but in Jammu province, NC is supporting Congress, which speaks about double standard of both the parties . “Both these parties are frustrated to see the growing unity of Dogras and now taking lost resort to divide us, which will not yield any result. The people of Jammu province can no more be taken for a ride and cannot be hoodwinking by these cheap and unethical gimmicks just to ensure division in the society,” he added.
Ch Lal Singh further said that victory of Dogras in this election is going to be a game changer and their voice and agenda in the Parliament would give a strong rebuff to the Valley based pro separatists ideologue. “People will come to know that J&K is not only Valley and its separatists but there are Jammu province and Ladakh, which have always stood with the nation in all circumstances,” he said.
Retd IGP Kamal Saini and Prof Pardeep also spoke on the occasion. Advocate Pushpinder Singh, Adv B S Jamwal, Dr Shubhnandan, Advocate Vikrant, P R Sharma (Retd SP) and Raju Pehlwan accompanied Ch Lal Singh.
