JAMMU, Mar 23: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged musical play “Basanti Chola” in its Saturday Theatre series.
The play was staged in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu. The play dedicated to the Nation remembers Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Every year, 23 March is celebrated as “Shaheedi Diwas” in the memories of three freedom fighters – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who were hanged to death on this day in Lahore Central Jail in 1931.
The play commenced with National song “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” and “Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru Azadadi Ke The Parvane” and other patriotic songs like “Mere Watan Ke Logon Zara Ankh Mai Bhar Lo Pani”, “Ham Sab Ek Hain”, “Suno-Suno Bharat Vaasio” , “Uncha Rahe Tiranga”, “Ekta Ekta Ka Diya”.
The musical play was written, produced and directed by M L Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) and the music was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor of BLSKS.
The singers, musicians, actors and students of Music and Computer Institute who performed in the musical play were Raju Bajgal, Dhruv Pandit, Chahat Chadha, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Renu Saproo, Priya Sharma, Heena Khan, Ujwal Sharma, Vansh Raina, Sanvi Raina, Bhoomika Chib, Neelam Chib, Megha Raina, Preeti Parihar, Geetanjali Parihar, Rudra Parihar, Devansh, Adhiraj Mahi and many others.
