JAMMU, Mar 29: A meeting of State Quality Assurance Committee (SQAC) was held here today under the chairmanship of Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education Department, J&K.
Welcoming all, Dr. Arun Sharma, Director Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization briefed about the concept of Quality Assurance in Sterilization Procedures.
He elaborated the role of SQAC and State Indemnity Sub-Committee in sterilization and steps taken to ensure that highest degree of quality is maintained at grass root level.
Dr. Qazi Haroon SEPIO/Nodal officer FP gave a detailed presentation on Supreme Court’s directions and compliance by the State. He informed the Committee that all the directions of Supreme Court have been adhered to in letter and spirit.
Dr. Anil Mehta, Prof Gynecology, GMC Kathua presented the claims for the approval in the SQAC which were cleared by the State Indemnity Sub-Committee.
Dr. Samir Mattoo, Director Health Services Jammu said First Quality Assurance Committee meeting was held in his tenure as Director Family Welfare since then the Department is following all guidelines of MOHFW GOI.
Bhupinder Kumar MD NHM who is also the chairman of State Indemnity Sub-Committee urged the need for timely submission of all failure cases from districts.
The Principal Secretary directed all the stake holders to maintain quality of sterilization procedures at all levels especially in the field.
The meeting was attended by Sajjad Amin Shah, Additional Secretary Health HME Dept; T.R Verma, DD Planning DFW; Dr. L.D Bhagat, AD FW Jammu and others.
