RAMBAN, Mar 30: Launching a scathing attack on all the traditional parties and successive State Governments for ignoring district Ramban in all spheres, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, accused the diabolical BJP partnered alliance of not meeting the expectations of the local people including the unemployed youth.
“Rather it invited destruction, ruin and disaster in the entire Jammu region,” Harsh rued while addressing several public meetings at Banihal, Khari, Maggerkot, Ukhral in Ramban segment of Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, here today.
Highlighting local issues, Harsh Dev Singh sought due share for local youth of district Ramban in employment. Taking a dig at the construction companies, which were allotted Highway and Railway projects, he accused the big corporate houses of violating the terms of agreement signed with erstwhile State Government with regard to engagement of local workers in various ongoing projects.
“These companies outsourced the ongoing projects for the very first time, hobnobbed with the local administration and influential political incumbents to deprive the local youth of their 70 percent share in employment. They hired workers and labourers from outside the State and terminated the local workers en masse forcing them to agitate on the roads,” he said and alleged that even locals were deprived of land compensation.
Singh further regretted that despite Ramban being blessed with unmatched tourism resources, the successive Governments failed to tap its potential. “Places like Mahu Mangat, Neel, Sargali, Senabati, Rajgarh, Gool have wonderful natural attractions but no regime paid heed to develop them for promoting tourism in the area. The people were neglected, cheated and betrayed by the leadership while the latter and the corrupt bureaucrats filled their own coffers,” he rued.
Harsh Dev Singh claimed that Panthers party has a secular ideology and it believes in delivering rights and justice at the door steps of the people. “All parties blatantly ignored our region and subjugated our people in employment, development and allocation of funds. BJP and Congress had failed to deliver. Try us. Support us in Parliamentary elections. We assure you that we will not let you down,” Harsh Dev told the people.
