JAMMU, Mar 31: Brilliant Shubham Singh Pundir powered Jammu Cricket Club to big win, while Kathua Cricket Club and Diamond Cricket Club registered victories over their rivals in the ongoing Winter Shield T20 Cup, being organized by SCA, J&K Sports Council under the supervision of its Secretary Dr Naseem Choudhary.
In the first match, Kathua Cricket Club defeated Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club by 1 wicket.
Batting first, Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club scored a modest total of 111 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18 overs. Vijay top scored with 34 runs, while Rohit and Karan contributed 30 and 13 runs respectively. From Kathua Club, Balbir and Anil took 2 wickets each, while Rohit, Anmol and Sunil claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Kathua Cricket Club chased the target in 15.4 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, thus won the match by 1 wicket. Manmohan top scored with 33 runs, while Rohit Chandan contributed 18 runs.
From bowling side, Abhinandan and Pankaj took 3 wickets each, Rohit took 2 wickets, while Anubhav claimed 1 wicket. Manmohan was declared as the man of the match.
In the second match, Diamond Club defeated Bali Cricket Club by 11 runs.
Batting first, Diamond Cricket Club scored 113 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 18 overs. Narinder was the top scorer with 31 runs, while Pawandeep (22) and JP 12 runs were the other scorers. From the bowling side, Vikrant and Rohit bagged 2 wickets each while Nitin claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Bali Cricket Club managed to score 102 runs in 17.2 overs to lose the match by 11 runs. Vikrant top scored with 31 runs, while Martin and Sanju contributed 18 and 14 runs respectively. From bowling side, Sarabjeet and JP took 3 wickets each while Manpreet and Pawandeep shared 1 wicket each. JP was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, JCC defeated Champions Club by a big margin of 86 runs.
Batting first, JCC scored 183 runs in the allotted 18 overs. Shubham Singh Pundir played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 62 runs, while Surya contributed unbeaten 43 runs and Vivrant chipped in with 25 runs. From Champions Jammu, Kaka took 2 wickets while Honda claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Champions Club managed to score 97 runs to lose the match by a big margin of 86 runs. Bhanu top scored with 25 runs, while Bambru and Akshit contributed 19 and 17 runs respectively. From JCC, Deepak Dogra took 3 wickets, while Sushant and Aman claimed 2 wickets each. Gurupartap claimed 1 wicket.
Shubham Singh Pundir was adjudged as the man of the match.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Samar Cricket Club will take on Eleven Stars Rajouri at 9.30 am, while Singh Akhnoor will face Poonch Royals at 1 pm.
