Contradictory evidence leads to acquittal of narco smuggler

JAMMU, Apr 2: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu VS Bhou has acquitted a narcotics smuggler namely Hilal Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ismail of Tral due to contradictory evidence.
After hearing Advocate Prince Khanna appearing for the accused person, the court observed, “there is sheer violation of Section 52, 55 and 57 of the NDPS Act besides the evidence on record is contradictory and on the basis of contradictory evidence, which is so weak and fragile, accused cannot be convicted”.
“The benefit of doubt goes to the accused, challan fails and accordingly dismissed”, the DB said while acquitting the accused.
