Deputy CM inaugurates Annual Sports Day at K C Gurukul

UDHAMPUR Feb 17: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand inaugurated Annual Sports Day of K C Gurukul Public School at village Jakhar in Udhampur by lighting sports  lamp in the premises of school ground  here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister, who was the chief guest, highlighted the importance of games in the school curriculum, saying that extracurricular activities play vital role in the overall personality development of the students. He said holding of annual sports meet in any educational institution has its own relevance as such occasions provide a common platform to the talented students to exhibit their hidden sports talent which further help them in improving self-confidence, physical and mental capabilities.
Appreciating the school management for organizing such a grand function, Tara Chand said that he was happy to witness that the school is providing education based on co-curricular activities for the harmonious maturity of the students.
Later, Tara Chand presented trophies, medals, and certificates among the students who excelled in the co-curricular activities.
Earlier, the students presented sport and cultural activities which were highly appreciated by the audience.
Among others, Legislator Krishan Chander Bhagat, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur- Reasi Range Jagjit Kumar,  Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, P K Pole, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, Ashkoor Wani, Director Academics, KC Gurukul Public School, Vijay Puri, besides senior members of the KC Gurukul Educational Society, prominent citizens, teachers, parents and students were present on the occasion.
