KATRA, Apr 6: The 2nd Division Football League concluded at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, here today.
In an interesting contest, Lone Star Kashmir held Ahmedabad ARA FC to (1-1) draw.
The players of both the teams displayed extraordinary soccer skills and held their nerves better in the crunch situation.
Lone Star FC qualified for the final round of the Hero Second Division Football League in Group A, while Karnataka Ozone FC qualified in Group B, Trau FC Manipur and Chiggaving FC Meghalaya both in Group C.
The venue of the final league matches will be decided in due course of time by the AIFF.
In today’s match, both the goals were scored in the first Half. Hamza (Nigerian Player) scored the first goal in 26th minute for Lone Star Kashmir, while Parminder scored an equaliser in 33rd minute. Lesses (Nigerian player) of Lone Star was shown red card by the referee for dangerous play.
Vikram Singh and Parladh Roy (former players of East Bengal and Mohammedan Supporting teams respectively) and Manik played brilliant soccer from ARA FC, while Hamza, Gagandeep Singh and Gulshan played splendidly for Lone Star.
Suman Gosh was the manager of the Lone Star, while Ashfaq Ahmed and Nitish Singh were the coach and assistant coach respectively, while Vivek Nagul was the coach of Ahmedabad ARA team.
Tapish Thappa and Vikramjeet were the Match Commissioner and Assessor, while Rahul Bakshi was the General Coordinator for the match.
Ashok Kumar Director Sports Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was the chief guest on the occasion, who was introduced with the players of both the teams.
Sheikh Mehmood, President Jammu Wing of JKFA was the guest of honour, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Faiz Ahmed Sofi, President DFA Srinagar, Romesh Chander, Vice President JKFA, Charan Dass, Shafi Naari, Virender Gupta, Amardeep Singh and Sunil Kumar.
Chief Executive Officer SMVDSB, Simrandeep Singh and President Jammu and Kashmir Football Association, Zameer Thakur congratulated the winners for brilliant display.
