JAMMU, Apr 10: A-Horizon Cricket Club (AHCC) registered 3 wickets win over Simula Cricket Club (SCC) and lifted the title trophy of the 2nd Martyrs Cup Cricket Tournament, which was organized by the Physical Education Department, GGM Science College in collaboration with Sukhdev Cricket Academy and A-Horizon Group of Industries at hostel ground, GGM Science College.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Simula scored paltry 108 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Satish and Puneet contributed with 49 and 14 runs respectively.
For AHCC, Sukhvinder took 3 wickets and Sawan scalped 2 wickets.
In reply, AHCC chased the target in 19.2 overs with the loss of 7 wickets and thus won the final match by 3 wickets. Paras Sharma and Akhil scored 35 and 29 runs resoectively.
For Simula Club, Hritik scalped 5 wickets and Kuldeep Gora took 1 wicket.
Man of the Match was adjudged as Akhil Slathia, while Man of the Series award was presented to Ankush Sharma and Best Batsman award was given to Puneet Kumar.
During valedictory function, Davinder Singh Rana, Ex-MLA Nagrota was the chief guest, while Principal GGM Science College SP Saraswat was the guest of honour. Satinder Singh, Retd Principal GGM Science College, Ashish Singh, Owner, A-Horizon Group of Industries and Surinder Singh Gilli were special guests.
The match was officiated by Ashok, Rahul and Vijay.
