JAMMU, Apr 19: Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Transport Department with additional charge of J&K Road Safety Council today guided young Goenkans studying in 10th and 12th Standards towards maintaining total safety while moving / driving on roads.
He also created awareness towards doing safe web surfing and social networking.
During an extensive interaction with young students of GD Goenka School Jammu, Mr Sharma addressed students and eloquently covered lots of areas towards ensuring total safety on roads alongwith contributing towards maintaining ecological balance such as maximum usage of Bicycles, maintaining prescribed speed limits, never driving without valid driving licenses, non-usage of flashy/high beam/dipper lights while driving within city limits, non-usage of high beam and deafening horns, compulsory usage of halmets by both pillion riders, etc.
He addressed the students on a special short notice request by Principal Rajesh Rathore.
Students showed lot of keenness and interest towards these useful issues and expressed resolve towards spreading this message in their peer groups and circles. He quoted lot of contemporary examples of past when he took lot of initiatives towards these issues which have become founding pillars and benchmarks for future.
Mr Amit, being an eGovernance and cyber expert, further talked about righteous selection and usage of websites for constructive purposes and ensuring that no bad touch should happen towards their tender minds as it may lead towards creating irrecoverable damage to the young minds.
He told young Goenkans that they should not become victim of dangerous internet based games and apps like Blue Whale, etc.
Finally, Amit Sharma gave a strong word of caution towards showing strong resistance towards all kinds of drug addiction.
