Chess: Sumit Grover emerges winner via tie-breaker Buckloz rule

JAMMU, Apr 24: Submit Grover and Soham Kamotra tied for the first place in senior selection after scoring equal 5.5 points each and after tie breaker buckloz rule Sumit Grover was declared as the winner in the ongoing Jammu division selection events, being organised by All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association at Hotel Nek, here.
The highlight of the event was Young Krishna Bral who got 3rd position and did not lose a single game.
Kartik Rajvansh won in boys U-13 age category while Amrita Gupta won in girls Under-13 age category.
All the matches were conducted by Vivek, ace coach of J&K State, under Swiss System and International Chess Rules.
All the matches were conducted under supervision of Baldev Raj, Vice President AJKCA.
Selected players from these events along with selected players from Kashmir division will represent J&K State in forthcoming Nationals.
Atul Kumar Gupta, President AJKCA congratulated the young players for giving very tough fight to seniors and hoped that young players will bring laurels to J&K in forthcoming Nationals.
