JAMMU, Apr 24: The 10-member Pencak Silat (M&W) team of University of Jammu excelled in All India Inter University Pencak Silat (M&W) Championship organized by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in which University of Jammu won three silver and seven bronze medals in different categories.
The players who won the medals included Kunal Sharma (Silver medal), Mukesh Sharma (Silver medal), Drishti Pawan Sharma (Silver medal), Paramjeet Singh (Bronze medal), Sudheer Parihar (Bronze medal), Pankaj Singh (Bronze medal), Rahul Singh (Bronze medal), Anju Bala (Bronze medal), Meenakshi Kotwal (Bronze medal) and Nidhi Surmal (Bronze medal).
The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof. Manoj Dhar in presence of Prof Shailender Singh Jamwal, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu and Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, felicitated all the medallists and appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Sports & Physical Education in general and medalists in particular.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, applauded the efforts of the team along with Coach Karan Chopra and Manager Jai Bharat.
