Raghav strucks twice as Hero Club seals berth in finals

JAMMU, Apr 25: Two goals that too in the first 10 minutes of the play from Raghav Gupta today guided Hero Club to a fine 3-1 win against Jammu United on way to the final of the ongoing Ist Arun Kumar Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament at Mini Football Stadium, Parade, here.
Hero Club took the first lead in very fourth minute of the play through Raghav. Four minutes later, Raghav netted another goal to help the side take an invincible lead.
However, in the second half, Hero Club maintained their offensive and added yet another goal when Amit Rajput made a powerful kick on a pass from the centre to the surprise of the goal-keeper in the 64th minute. The only goal from Jammu United came in the last minutes of the play through Munish Manhas.
Now, in the second semifinal, scheduled for tomorrow, Shine FC shall face Young Rovers at 5 pm.
In today’s semifinal, Chief Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD), Gurmeet Singh was chief guest. He was introduced with the teams by organising secretary of the tournament, Rakesh Khanna and president of the host Climrate Club, Ashutosh Sharma. Rajesh Sharma (Assistant Engineer) was special guest.
Also present were president DFA Jammu, Sheikh Mehmood, secretary DFA, Yusuf Don, Chandan Singh Chouhan, Bachan Dogra and Kiranjeet Singh.
