UDHAMPUR, May 1: Army Public School (APS) Udhampur today witnessed a grand opening to the two-day Northern Command Inter APS Hockey Tournament here in its playground.
The participating teams included APS Akhnoor, APS Nagrota, APS Srinagar, APS Rakh Muthi, APS Dhar Road and the hosts APS Udhampur. The chief guest present on the occasion was Director AWES, Retd Col AK Sharma, who also declared the meet open.
Principal of the host school, Sanjeev Kumar also introduced the chief guest to the two girls teams of APS Dhar Road and APS Udhampur who had lined up to play the opening match of the tournament and the match was won by the latter team. The second match was played between boys team of APS Dhar and APS Nagrota Roads and the match was won by APS Dhar Road team.
A total of eight matches were scheduled to be played on the first day and the final matches will be played on May 2.
