Pakistan Army violates ceasefire on LoC, India retaliates, schools shut

JAMMU: Pakistani Army on Thursday after a brief lull violated the ceasefire and shelled forward posts and villages along the Line of Control (Loc) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistani Army this morning at around 0939 hours violated the ceasefire in Shahpur and Kerni Sectors of Poonch,” defence spokesman here said.
He further said that Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation starting with firing of small arms followed by Shelling with mortars along LoC.
“Indian Army is retaliating befittingly while no injury or damage has been reported so far on our side,” he informed.
However, district Magistrate has ordered closure of all the schools in Kerni sector for Thursday. (AGENCIES)
