LUCKNOW: Women power was on full display in the State capital on Friday when Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha held a mega road show in support of her mother and Samajwadi Party candidate from Lucknow Poonam Sinha.
Kannauj MP and wife of party president Akhilesh Yadav, Ms Dimple Yadav was also present in the road show.
In her address, Ms Yadav slammed the BJP for not living up to its electoral promises. She further expressed certainty over Ms Poonam Sinha emerging victorious in the polls.
However, it was the presence of Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha that pulled a large crowd towards the road show.
Sonakshi started her address by saying, ‘Khamosh’, to which the people present gave a loud cheer.
Urging the people to make her mother victorious, she struck a personal note with the audience and said that after coming to Lucknow, her mother who used to call her 10-12 times a day, had forgotten her and turned her entire attention towards the State capital.
The Dabbang girl further said that she was overwhelmed with the warm reception by the people of Lucknow and expressed her gratitude for making the road show a grand spectacle. (AGENCIES)
