JAMMU, May 3: Hosts APS Udhampur lifted the finals in both the boys and girls categories in the two day Northern Command Inter APS Hockey Tournament played here in the school playground by defeating APS Srinagar in both the categories.
A total of six schools from the Northern Command participated in the tournament.
In the girls category, APS Udhampur defeated APS Dhar road by 1-0 before reaching the finals where they outplayed APS Srinagar 4-0.
Similarly in the boys category APS Udhampur defeated APS Rakh Muthi by 3-0, before defeating APS Srinagar in the finals by 2-0.
Irshdeep Kaur and Mohammed Kaif of APS Udhampur were adjudged best players of the tournament. The chief guest for the final match was S.O to Chairman Colonel KR Raj Kumar who in his address commended the players for displaying tremendous sportsmanship on the field.
Principal of APS Udhampur, Sanjeev Kumar, also thanked each player and school for taking part in the tournament and playing the game in the true spirit.
