JAMMU, May 8: Hinan Malik scored a fabulous unbeaten century and overpowered Udhay Partap Singh’s magnificent 91 runs to help Simula Cricket Club outplay KC Royals by 8 wickets in the ongoing JKCA’s Jammu District Cricket Tournament, being held under the overall supervision Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, young side of KC Royals won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, KC Royals scored a decent total of 182 runs in 35 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Udhay Partap played a brilliant innings of 91 runs, while Aaqib contributed valuable 30 runs to the total. Abhay Tandon also chipped in with 11 runs. From Simula, Aakash Choudhary was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets by conceding 37 runs in his 7 overs, while Raman Dutta gave away 32 runs by taking 2 wickets in his 7 overs. Kuldeep Kumar also claimed one wicket.
In reply, Simula Club rode on splendid 112 runs by Hinan Malik and chased the target in 23.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Atul also scored unbeaten 48 runs, while Satish Kumar contributed 17 runs to the total. From KC Royals, Amaan and Abhay Tandon claimed 1 wicket each. Hinan Malik was adjudged as the man of the match for his unbeaten century.
The match was officiated by Rahul Kumar and Vinod Kandyara as umpires, while Saleem-ur-Rehman was the scorer.
