JAMMU, May 9: The State Government has constituted a committee to examine and finalize the draft J&K Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure Policy, 2019, and resolving the issues relating to telecom-connectivity in the State.
To facilitate the approval for installation of telecom infrastructure in the State, the committee shall examine and address the issues relating to Right of Way ( RoW), Single Window (RoW) clearance, RoW for Border Areas, Delay in RoW Clearance from forest Department, permission for installation of telecom infrastructure at sites near Dal lake and other water bodies and requirement of repeated RoW clearance .
Headed by Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, the committee Members shall be Administrative Secretaries of PDD, Forest, Revenue and IT Department, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu/Kashmir/Ladakh, Development Commissioner (Power), J&K and State Head, TERM Cell (J&K), Department of Telecom, Government of India.
The committee shall seek comments from various stakeholders and finalize the policy.
