Rajouri admn braces up for anti-encroachment drive

RAJOURI, May 9: District Administration Rajouri is bracing up for a massive anti- encroachment drive with targets set for each Tehsil for eviction of the encroachments.
To discuss the issue and the matters related to land acquisition, relief, disposal of complaints etc, the District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Sub Divisional Magistrate Thanamandi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Ashraf, concerned tehsildars and others.
The meeting deliberated on the issues related to land acquisition, relief, evacuation of State land, disposal of complaints etc.
Regarding the functioning of Public Grievance Cell, the ADC Sher Singh informed that it is receiving both online and hardcopy complaints. He said that the districts are rated according to the number of complaints addressed.
The DDC asked the tehsildars to verify that the complaints received are genuine before the same are processed. He directed the concerned for quick disposal of pending complaints and ensure that only genuine complaints are entertained.
While discussing the eviction of State land, the DDC directed the Tehsildars to formulate eviction plan as early as possible and firstly target the agricultural land. He further directed the concerned officers to keep the revenue record of the encroached land ready with them.
Taking stock of road construction from Government Medical College Rajouri to BGSBU it was informed that the revenue record of the State land is complete and the land has been handed over to the concerned department.
