Remove conditions for organizing langars during Yatra: HSS

JAMMU, May 9: Expressing shock over the conditions imposed on langar organizations for organizing langars during holy Amarnath pilgrimage, Hindu Shiv Sena has demanded removal of all conditions, saying these are unacceptable to non-profitable organizations.
Addressing a press conference here today, Krishan Manhas, president, Hindu Shiv Sena (HSS) said, “Without application of mind the State administration has imposed conditions like installation of CCTVs on langar site, non-refundable deposit of Rs 20000 in favour of Red Cross Society and arrangement of generator sets for power supply, on the langar organizations for organizing langars during Amarnath pilgrimage”.
He said lakhs of devotees from various parts of India and abroad visit baba Amarnath Shrine every year and volunteers of Hindu Shiv Sena have been welcoming the devotees with food and other essential commodities for last 14 years, with the help of Jammu people who donates for such a pious cause.
Manhas said that HSS being a non-profitable organization will find it difficult to meet financial burden on fulfilling the condition imposed for organizing langars by the State administration. He said that the administration should rethink on these conditions and solve the crisis by removing them otherwise it will be difficult for non-profitable organizations to continue this social cause.
He said that HSS will come on roads to protest against the State administration if all the conditions for organizing langars are not removed before the commencement of the holy pilgrimage.
Also present in the press conference were Shiv Kumar, president, Shiv Sena Hindustan, who announced merger of his organization with HSS, yesterday.
