JAMMU, May 21: Night curfew remained in force in Bhaderwah town as a precautionary measure even as no untoward incident was reported during the day when curfew was lifted from 8 am to 8 pm.
SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed Malik told the Excelsior that curfew for second consecutive day today remained lifted during the day i.e. from 8 am to 8 pm. The relaxation period passed off peacefully. However, curfew was imposed at 8 pm and night curfew would stay.
A breakthrough in the mysterious killing of 52 year old Nayeem Shah remained elusive to police.
Shah’s killing followed by violence and arson had led to imposition of curfew and deployment of Army in Bhaderwah town on Thursday.
Situation was defused yesterday following top officials meeting with representatives of the two communities.
