SSP examines performance of police stations, holds meet with NoKs of martyrs

KISHTWAR, May 22: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shakti K Pathak examined the performance of the police stations and also held meeting with next of kins (NoKs) of police martyrs.
As per official spokesman, SSP Kishtwar, examined the performance of police stations. The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of accident cases, motor vehicle theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed. The public complaints pending with Police Sub-Division were also discussed.
In the meeting, SSP Shakti K Pathak discussed all MV theft cases one by one. He advised SHO for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public. He personally checked the case files of heinous offences and took serious note of it and directed investigating officers for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation. He also advised the police stations staff to conduct foot patrolling in their respective jurisdictions. The investigating staff was also directed to conduct the investigation of cases with zeal, dedication and with transparency at an earliest possible time in the public interest and bring the pendency to the minimum.
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Nasir Ahmed, Chief Prosecuting Officer Mansoor Ahmed Mattoo DySP Headquarters Sunny Gupta, DySP DAR DPL Iftikhar Ahmed DySP operation Davinder Singh, SHOs of Police Stations Kishtwar, Atholi, Chatroo and other investigating officers of these units.
Meanwhile, a meeting of NoKs of police martyrs was held by SSP Shakti K. Pathak, in which around 28 NoKs of police martyrs took part at DPL.
SSP assured the participants that police is always at their disposal and asked them not to feel isolated. He assured them that they are still part of police family and they can approach any police officer or police unit at any given time whenever they are in need. Various measures taken by Police Department for the welfare of NoKs of police martyrs and their wards were read out for availing the facilities of the said measures.
The NoKs of police martyrs raised various issues in the meeting to which SSP assured that their demands and problems would be taken up at appropriate level for their redressal.
The meeting was also attended by Additional SP Kishtwar Nasir Ahmed DySP DAR DPL Kishtwar Iftikhar Ahmed.
The meeting was concluded with vote of thanks and with the assurance that such meetings will be held on regular basis to redress the grievances of the NoKs of Police Martyrs.
