Shopkeeper, son attacked, looted by robbers

KATHUA, Feb 24: A shopkeeper and his son were attacked by some robbers near Dayala Chak in tehsil Hiranagar, who looted Rs 15,000 cash from them last night.
The mishap took place when ‘Halwai’ Chhaju Ram, son of Shanker Dass and his son, were returning to their home at Pathwal village from Dayala Chak after closing shop at around 9.30 pm. About 4-5 boys, equipped with hockey sticks and sharp edged weapons intercepted them on Dayala chak -Pathwal-Hiranagar road and attacked. They snatched Rs 15,000 cash and then escaped after beating them. The injured were removed to Hiranagar hospital and police was also informed. Chhaju Ram was later referred to Kathua hospital.
They identified three accused persons as Madan, Jeevan and Shubam of Hiranagar area. The police has registered a case and started manhunt for the robbers.
