JAMMU, May 28: A meeting of Departmental Coordinators was convened today by Jammu University Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre where the participants were asked to identify the skill based courses in their respective domains from the National Qualification Register, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Government of India.
Convenor UESDC, Prof Sameer Gupta, apprised the Coordinators about the various activities undertaken by the Centre and future road map for the centre was also pondered. A brainstorming session about the entrepreneurship and skill based courses among students was the main objective of the meet.
During the session, Coordinators raised several issues pertaining to the course structure, infrastructure requirements, student placements and support from the UESDC which were addressed by Prof Sameer Gupta. The Convenor also unveiled the upcoming activities of the UESDC, including Entrepreneurship Awareness Program for women students to be organized in collaboration with National Commission for Women, New Delhi ; Entrepreneurship Development Programs in collaboration with JKEDI and select skill based courses.
The event was attended by the coordinators from the Department of Botany, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Computer Centre, Commerce, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Economics, English, Home Science, Library and Information Science Mathematics, Museology, Psychology, Remote Sensing and GIS, Statistics, Sociology, and The Business School.
The meeting was also attended by all the members of UESDC, including Dr Garima Gupta, Dr Sikandar Pal and Dr Aubid H Parrey.
