NEW DELHI: In a major development, key NDA constituent Janata Dal (United) of Nitish Kumar on Thursday said it would not be part of the Union cabinet as it was not interested in a ‘token participation’ in the Narendra Modi Government.
”We did not agree with the BJP offer, but we are standing with the NDA, ”Mr Kumar told reporters ahead of the swearing in ceremony.
The remarks from the Bihar chief Minister came amid reports that the BJP has offered only one cabinet berth to all its allies.
Sources say Nitish Kumar, in a meeting with BJP president Amit Shah, had asked for two cabinet berths.
“The offer we got was not acceptable,” the Bihar Chief Minister told reporters as he left for PM Modi’s oath ceremony. (AGENCIES)
